These tools can only be used for flaring soft copper, aluminum and brass tubes. Do not use with corrosion-resistant steel or titanium. Cut tube vertically and remove all burrs. Slide the union nut and sleeve onto the pipe. Loosen the clamping screw used to lock the sliding section into the die holder. This will allow them to separate. These tools are self-measuring; When the pipe is clamped flush with the top of the module, a properly sized bell will be produced. Insert the tube between module segments corresponding to the size of the tube to be flamed. Push the clamping screw to the end segment and tighten it firmly. Move the yoke down to the top of the die holder and turn clockwise to lock it in place. Turn the feed screw down vigorously and continue until you feel slight resistance. This indicates that accurate flares have been completed.
