Because the thermocouple materials are generally more valuable (especially when using precious metals), and the distance between the temperature measuring point and the instrument is very far, in order to save the thermocouple materials and reduce the cost, compensation wire is usually used to extend the cold end of the thermocouple (free end) to the control room with relatively stable temperature, connected to the instrument terminal. It must be pointed out that the thermocouple compensation wire can only extend the hot electrode and move the cold end of the thermocouple to the instrument terminal in the control room. It can not eliminate the influence of the temperature change of the cold end on the temperature measurement and can not compensate. Therefore, other correction methods should be adopted to compensate for the influence of temperature measurement on the cold end temperature t0≠0℃ .
